About us
Born in Yunnan, shaped by artisans, carried by wind.

Every Husk & Lull chime begins where the mountains hold their breath — in the remote highlands of southwest China, where ancient forests have been tended by indigenous hands for longer than anyone can remember.
We didn't set out to make decor. We set out to bring a feeling home: the quiet you only find standing under old trees, listening to leaves brush against each other in a slow breeze. That feeling shouldn't be locked away in a forest. It belongs in the spaces where you rest, breathe, and slow down.
So we walked into those forests and asked the people who know them best. What grows naturally? What falls without being cut? What carries a sound that doesn't shout? The answer was right there on the forest floor — dried seed pods, hollow fruit husks, fibrous vines. Nothing harvested by force. Nothing altered by chemicals. Just what the earth was already letting go of.
We brought those findings to village craftspeople whose families have worked with plant fibers for generations. They sort each piece not by size, but by the weight of its voice. They listen, test, and reassemble — layer by layer — until the tone feels like a whispered exhale rather than a ring. There are no machines on their workbenches. Only patience, calloused fingers, and an ear for what sounds right.
That listening is what gives each of our chimes its own character. Salin is small and light, a clear, airy whisper for a windowsill. Chacha and Juju ring soft and warm, filling a quiet corner with gentle calm. Panji is deeper and slower, its notes lingering long after the wind has moved on. And Mix-4 brings four of those voices together in one handcrafted piece, for those who love the full chorus of the forest.
That patience is why no two chimes are the same — and why we'd never want them to be. A forest doesn't produce identical leaves. A craftsperson doesn't tie identical knots. The small differences between your chime and the next one are exactly what makes it yours: a small, honest object with its own quiet personality.
We don't chase loud. We don't chase perfect uniformity. We chase the sound of wind moving through something real, something grown, something made by a person who cared. If a Husk & Lull chime helps you pause for even one breath in a busy day, it has done its job.
From the forest floor, through patient hands, into the wind — and wherever it finds your quiet corner.
